Kristen Schmidt
Kristen, as Miss Connecticut International, is advocating the importance of breast cancer awareness and early detection in young women. A family history of breast cancer inspired her to begin volunteering, donating and fundraising for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Kristen is employed as a civil defense litigator in a law firm located in Midtown Manhattan. She graduated from the New York Law School accelerated Juris Doctorate degree program after only two and half years of study, and is admitted to the New York and Connecticut state bars. She is also a graduate of Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Journalism and a minor in Spanish. In her free time, Kristen pursues acting and modeling, and has even appeared on various programs on NBC, MTV, VH1 and the NY Metro Channel as herself. She has been featured in various print ads across the New England states and recently finished filming an independent feature film in which she played "Kristina," a model. Kristen hopes to continue pursuing acting and modeling and is looking forward to spending her year as Miss Connecticut International promoting her platform and talking to young women about the importance of minimizing breast cancer risk factors and early, routine screenings.
